Day 11 - Milton, FL

Thunderstorms moved in after midnight and they've continued through the night.  Some squalls have been at least as severe as those we experienced on Thursday.  Fortunately, we're set-up, dry and warm.  Man, are we glad this isn't a pop-up camper!

7:45am - Now it's hailing.  We may try to stay another day just to wait out the storm.
9:45am - The sky is lighter now and the rain has slowed to a sprinkle.  We'll connect and go.

We followed the storm eastward for 205 miles.  The route: US-90E to I-10 and I-10E through LA, MS and AL, into FL.  We passed Biloxi, Pascagoula, Mobile and Pensacola.  We stopped at Avalon Landing RV Park at Milton (5 miles east of Pensacola).

Leaving New Orleans
The French Quarter got over 4 ½" of rain overnight.  There was standing water on most access roads.  We now have a better understanding of why the roads here are so rough.
This is the campground exit road.

We almost caught the rain we followed all day when we got to the campground.  The roads were wet and there was a light rain mist.  Thankfully, it stopped by the time we finished set-up.

Flashback:  We passed this way on November 1, 2008 while returning from our Texas trip.
